So I'm watching TV while training my Wooper (breeding for Counter, Water Absorb, & decent IVs. Hurray!) for HP EVs & I'm at about 17 out of 31 done & there wasn't a single Bidoof for the last 4 encounters. I've got the volume up on my DS so when a battle comes I'll hear the wild Poke's cry & if it isn't Bidoof I'll run. (go listen to both Ditto & Poliwag. Oh yeah. Machamp & Slowbro plus a few more I'm to lazy to list.) There was a bunch of Kricketots & because I've got Fire Red on the bottom I'd even get Growlithe.
So I'm moving back & forth when I hear a Starly. I "aw great"ed but then there's a little sparkly noise.

It was shiny!

Rash. Yeah I know. ; (Heat Wave, Air Cutter, Ominous Wind, & whatever HP is. Heh.) Its a bit hard to tell, but I caught it in a Repeat Ball for added coolness. (Just wish I had a Luxury one on me though.)

I saved a bazillion times after the successful capture.
